Join us for "Baby Backpack Hikes," a free summer hiking weekly series designed for parents and caregivers who love the great outdoors and want to share the adventure with their little ones. Each week, we explore a new and beautiful location across Vermont, offering beginner-friendly hikes that are perfect for families with babies in carriers or backpacks.

  • September 16th: Stowe Pinnacle

    September 23rd: Mills Riverside Park

    September 30th: Mobbs Farm

    October 7th: Suckerbrook Hollow

    October 14th: Mount Philo

    October 21st: Shelburne Bay Park

    October 28th: Wheeler Park

    November 4th: East Woods

What to Expect:

  • Scenic Locations that change weekly: You'll receive an email before the hike from our guide Ale with details about where to meet, etc. You can also email Ale at [email protected] with questions or to find out the location details.
  • Beginner-Friendly Hikes: Our routes are carefully selected to ensure they are suitable for most fitness levels, focusing on safety and enjoyment for both parents and babies.
  • Family-Oriented Fun: Meet other like-minded families, share parenting tips, and make new friends while immersing your baby in the wonders of nature.
  • Nature Exploration: Encourage your little one's curiosity and love for the outdoors while you get some good exercise.

Details:

  • Frequency: Mondays 10 am - weather dependent
  • Duration: 1-2 hours per hike
  • Locations: Various beginner trails within one hour of Burlington
  • What to Bring: Comfortable hiking attire, baby carrier or backpack, water, snacks, sunscreen, and any necessary baby supplies
