Feeding Foundations is a two-hour, prenatal class taught by Kait Titherington, a L&D nurse at UVM and ICLBC, designed to help you feel ready and confident as you head into those first feeding days with your baby. Together, you’ll learn hands-on skills like hand expression and colostrum collection, how to spot your baby’s early hunger cues, what to expect when initiating the first latch after birth, and how to find the right pump flange fit. There’s plenty of time for questions, curiosity, and real-life conversations about feeding in the early days.
Support people/partners are encouraged to join because feeding often requires teamwork! We’ll talk about how they can be helpful and supportive along the way. The goal is for you to leave feeling informed, empowered, and grounded in the basics, with a solid foundation to begin your breastfeeding or pumping journey with confidence.
